TheNodeNest started in Nairobi in 2019 with a small idea: that Kenyan brands deserve the same calibre of digital craft that the agencies in Cape Town, Lagos and London were shipping for their global clients. Most local shops were either templated or overpriced — and the teams hiring them were left with sites that looked the same and apps that broke at the first 500 users.
Six years and forty projects later we are a vertically integrated studio of designers, engineers, marketers and writers. The combinations change, but the approach is constant: strategy first, design as a system, code that is actually maintainable, and growth measured weekly. We work in Kenyan Shillings, in Kenyan time, on Kenyan networks — and we test on the actual Safaricom 4G a Nairobi customer is on, not the gigabit fibre our laptop sits on.
Our clients run grocery stores, fintech apps, signage workshops, pipe yards, domestic-services platforms and AI tooling. The thread is the same: small teams that need a digital partner who will move with them, not over them.
We are based in Nairobi but we ship across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. The studio is small on purpose — every engagement is led by a senior, never delegated to a junior.
